Beautiful Bear... |
did you have a snack? |
The white guy, Bear, is deaf as a stone. Born that way. He is, however, still the first one to come back to the house when I whistle for them. Willow, aka red dog, is not deaf, but she has a condition commonly known as "selective hearing." This one can hear a chip bag rustle from 2 miles out, but "can't" hear me screech her name from 10 feet away. Either way, they are both adorable.
Snow Fun!! |
Here they are watching the chickens and sheep, keeping everyone organized and in line (it only looks like Willow is sleeping- it is her master disguise!
Working dogs |
Willow is a Catahoula Leopard Dog crossed with Red Heeler, Bear is Border Collie crossed with Blue Heeler. You would think, with that type of family tree, they could herd up 10 little sheep, but what I get is confused looks and a lot of aimless running around.
But that's okay. Where they earn their keep is in being loving, happy, playful, wonderful souls. We get more than their weight in gold in that department.
OMG- I see the sun peeking through outside!! Have a fantastic weekend and don't forget to turn your clocks ahead!!
